mall owner and developer General Growth Properties (GGP) tapped Beacon
to publicize the grand opening of the Brass Mill Center in Waterbury.
Our award-winning media relations effort included news releases and
targeted features, radio and TV interviews, on-site media tours, speech
development, and photo opportunities.
In spite of the expansion of the Westfarms Mall ten days earlier,
press coverage was extensive, with over 33 front page newspaper stories,
print coverage of 12.4 million, and TV coverage of 4.5 million. In
addition, 55,000 people attended opening day, exceeding the attendance
goal of 35,000.
